The Field of Law has gained significance in the recent past. In recent times, We find many people opting for maths, biology, physics, and chemistry subjects as their careers paths. In 1987, the Government introduced the Field of Law under the Advocate Act, 1961. The Bar Council of India (BCI) is the prime control regulatory of law education in India. The Government started the three-year educational law program called LLB. In 1985, the Law Commission of India created a University of Law to enhance the academic standards in the legal profession. Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA.LLB)

The BA.LLB program is a five-year integrated professional course in the field of law. This educational law degree program is one of the most opted courses in the scope of integrated law after the 12th standard. The Subjects include the combination of humanities of sociology, political science, economics, and history, etc. The law subjects include civil law, criminal law, constitutional law, and contracts law, etc.

The Law graduate, after the completion of the five-year course, can pursue multiple career options. Some of which are like Lawyer, Solicitor, Legal Advisor and Magistrate, etc. The candidates can not only opt for a legal career but also can opt for several government exams. The Average pay of the graduates of the BA.LLB ranges from 4 – 8 Lakhs Per Anum.

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Law

The program of BBA.LLB is an integrated five-year Educational law degree program. This course is a combination of both Law and business management. The compilation of these backgrounds adds more prominence to the course in terms of both management and legal. Moreover, this integration has its importance in the corporate field. The course includes Management, Marketing, and Finance, etc. The Law subjects include Corporate Law, Company Law, and Contract law, etc.

Furthermore, the BBA.LLB graduates have more opportunities than candidates of other programs. They are in high demand in both the public and private sectors. Legal services are also often required by most businesses. Hence, the candidates have the edge over the candidates of other courses.

Bachelor of Commerce-Bachelor of Law (B.Com LLB)

The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Legislative Law (B.Com LLB) is a dual degree with a combination of Commerce and Law. This educational law program allows the candidates to explore and expand the limits from Commerce to legal as well. The person interested in commercial, corporate, and taxation laws has the good opportunity of pursuing both commerce and legal background.

In Particular, there are numerous career opportunities in the field of commerce and law. The candidate with the background of B.Com LLB has the option of becoming a Corporate Lawyer, Taxation Lawyer, Management Accountant, etc.

Bachelor of Laws is a law degree of 3 years with LLB only. In Addition to the undergraduate courses, there are also master and postgraduate courses in Law; namely the LLM course.

Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law

Generally, all the undergraduate integrated law courses take three years to complete the program. But diploma has the provision of completing the program in a relatively shorter time. This attracts most of the aspirants to pursue the law through the diploma courses.

The course takes 1 to 2 years to complete the diploma in the particular field of law. Some of the prominent diploma courses adopted by the candidates are Diploma in cyber laws, criminal laws, business laws, and labor laws, etc.

Undergraduate Courses Educational Law Programs

The field of law has both undergraduate and post-graduate educational programs. The LLM i.e., Masters of Law is recognized internationally. This course usually is a year-long educational law program. The students after the completion of LLB i.e., bachelor of law pursue LLM. Law students and professionals frequently pursue the LLM to gain expertise in a specialized field of law.

The degree of LLM indicates that a lawyer has advanced, specialized legal training. This expertise has the qualification to work in a multinational legal environment. As this is a specialization course, the candidate gains additional and more extensive knowledge. The students can choose their area of law of specialization based on their career interests.

In this course of LLM, the candidate can pursue their specialization in Tax Law, Civil Law, Corporate Law, International Law, IPR, Competition Law, etc. But there are certain eligibility criteria like candidates need to secure at least 55% aggregate marks in the graduation.

Ph.D. in Law- Educational Law Program:

The Educational programs in law also include the higher level of Ph.D. This course is generally 3-year law degree approach where students aim at learning and imparting the required knowledge. The students can pursue the subjects and backgrounds of their interest. This degree provides a great and high value and expertise in that particular subject. 

Some of the famous Ph.D. law programs include the Ph.D. in cyber Law, Ph.D. in Environmental Law, and Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Law, etc. Unlike the other educational programs, the Ph.D. has certain specific important requirements. The Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), the Master’s degree in Law (LLM), LSAT exam, Research proposal, and personal statement, etc. 

All these are very vital criteria to be followed by the candidate. There are certain exams of which scores are accepted for the admission of Ph.D. in different schools. The candidates also have the option of pursuing a Ph.D. through the mode of distance education. NALSAR Hyderabad, IIT Kharagpur, SLS Pune, NUJS Kolkata are some of the prominent colleges in India offering Ph.D. programs in law.
